Introduction:
“What I really want to tell him is to pick up that baby of his and hold her tight, to set the moon on the edge of her crib and to hang her name up in the stars.”
― Jodi Picoult

Let me wish a Happy Fathers’ Day to all the Dads out and about on this day of celebration.

My Father born, Alexander Steven Sharpton Jr. in San Louis Potosi, Mexico, was a brilliant dad and I have deeply missed him for better than 30 years especially on days like today. He was a quiet, profoundly pensive man that loved his coffee all day long. I was his sweetness & light, my sister was his peaches & cream. I tagged along where ever he went, horseback riding and business trips for years. I was the one always riding shot gun for my daddy. I remember quite clearly his words to me as I was leaving for the US and saying goodbye “I am not losing my daughter, I am losing my pal”.

He taught me so much; how to shoot a gun or rifle and to respect its use. He taught me how to recognize a good snake vs. a poisonous one, how to swim in a current and so much more. My dad was a precious part of my life and I celebrate this memory of him with you today.

This post is going to focus on music that touches on the spirit and love between little girls and their dad’s and of course I am going to go country with the brilliant

Heartland ~ I loved her first

I was blessed with a wonderful father growing up and regret I can’t tell him “Happy Father’s Day” showering him with hugs and kisses. So, this post is for you daddy.

""I Loved Her First"
Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each other's face
So much in love you're alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same freckle-faced kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to?
And tucked into bed all those nights?
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first

I hope you like this selection as much as I do and have a blessed evening or morning. Thank you for your continued support. Remember music is a language and these are my thoughts tonight.

Peace and Love always
Diana Mary Sharpton

Sugar... my daddy would  know you are right for me and he would welcome you with open arms as all my family will that love me... I love you for making me happy these days...
Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two people. Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond. It is  the foundation to true love.

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
    ― Pablo Neruda,
