![]() "In Bloom" Photography by Diana Mary Sharpton Introduction “You can’t hurry love, and you can’t rush puff pastry, either. You can knead too much, and you can be too needy. Always, warmth is what brings pastry to rise. Chemistry creates something amazing; coupled with care and heat, it works some kind of magic to create this satisfying, welcoming, and nourishing thing that is the base of life.”~ Kathleen Flinn, The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry: Love, Laughter, and Tears at the World's Most Famous Cooking School I have not been around much lately and for good reason. First, I think jet lag kicked my butt. Secondly, a slow crescendo in work related politics brought on arduous anxiety attacks. The solution to the jet lag was sleeping for three days and nights and work well today I stood up for myself and my reputation. I consider the score card both win-wins. What a glorious feeling being off for three days without worries or concerns and completely happy. I could dance, or run or laugh and maybe I will do all three. I am feeling very much alive. There were two songs that caught my attention on the drive home, the one I am going to post tonight is "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship. It is a duet featuring Starship vocalists Mickey Thomas and Grace Slick. The song is the theme to the romantic comedy film Mannequin. Oh and I loved that movie. LOL! Very romantic. The poem titled “The Edge of Nowhere” has been modified slightly for the occasion. Yes, I wrote it and can do this, bad grammar and all. It’s called a poetic license (smile). The Edge of Nowhere Standing on the edge of nowhere minus intricacy or applause Watching light crawl past dusk; an assault inwardly that mauls Emotionless, faceless, without thoughts a cylindered sphere As wind wraps this body pressing limbs; fostering constant fear So… I drink the suns’ warmth as it climbs down in evening hues Stretching arms, parallel, tip to tip; minding a flight of loons A storm moves quickly across the abyss to where I reside Then it hits my mind; almost toppling me over to one side And… I reach grabbing dark clouds above; its balance they send Your hands steady my hold; an amity quietly transcends Diana Mary Sharpton © 2015 ~ All Rights Reserved Sugar… I am writing good, bad or in different but it’s coming out again and these are the right words, I do believe at least for now. Diana Mary Sharpton“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” Categories
